Will you be visiting Sitka soon?  Be sure to come to the Alaska Raptor Center!

  • Beginning May 1st, the Alaska Raptor Center’s Spring/Summer visiting hours will be 8am to 4pm, 7 days a week, with last admission at 3:30pm
  • Beginning September 30th, the Alaska Raptor Center’s fall/winter visiting hours are Tuesday-Friday from 10am to 3pm.
The Alaska Raptor Center provides medical treatment to around 200 injured birds each year.  Although we specialize in raptors, we will aid any wild bird in need.  We strive to heal, rehabilitate and release all of our avian patients, however, some are injured too severely to fully recover and survive in the wild.  These non-releasable birds may join our Raptors-in-Residence team, helping us teach the public and school children about the wonders of raptor natural history and the habitats in which they live!

You’ll see our Raptors-in-Residence, including eagles, hawks, falcons and owls, learn about their habitats and how they came to be permanent residents at the Center.
