Varia (Barred Owl)
Varia was found on the roadway with a broken right wrist after presumably being struck by a vehicle. After some time, we found that while she was able to fly, she was quite noisy while doing so. This made it difficult for her to locate her prey as owls rely on their silent flight abilities to hunt effectively. We then made the decision to keep her as an educational ambassador as we felt she would not be successful if she were to be released.Â
