Tito (Northern Saw-whet Owl)
Tito came to the Center from Juneau, AK. He was found on the ground, starving and being attacked by ravens. His right eye is deflated (blind) leaving him with no depth perception, making it impossible for him to hunt or defend himself in the wild.
The Saw-whet owl is named for one of its calls which resemble the sound of saw teeth being sharpened. Other names for the Saw-whet are Acadian owl, Blind owl, Kirkland’s owl and the Sparrow owl.
