Spirit (Bald Eagle)
Spirit found her way to the Alaska Raptor Center on September 11th, 2016 after being discovered in a ditch in Juneau, most likely the result of being hit by a car. Though she mostly escaped unharmed, Spirit has a head tilt and very limited vision in her left eye due to scarring. She is fully-flighted but because of her limited eyesight and young age, would not do well in the wild.
The Center gave Alaska Airlines the honor of naming Spirit as a gesture of our appreciation for the decades of tremendous generosity they have demonstrated by flying injured bald eagles to the Center, free of charge.
