Thor (Bald Eagle)
Thor came from Ketchikan, AK where he had lived for many years with a licensed rehabilitator and former falconer. The gentleman developed health issues and could no longer care for the eagle, relinquishing Thor and three other birds to the care of the Alaska Raptor Center. We do not know much about how Thor sustained his injuries, but we do know that he is missing the hallux on his right foot and was having problems growing feathers on his right wing-tip. Because Thor was continually breaking blood feathers on his wing, which can be very painful, we decided to amputate the wing-tip with the hope of giving him a more pain-free life. Thor now resides in our natural eagle habitat with Sunset and Titan.
