Titan was rescued in Cold Bay, Alaska, in 2006 and transferred to Bird TLC in Anchorage for care. An exam revealed severe damage to his right wrist joint, making wingtip amputation the only viable option. He was later placed at the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary in Ketchikan, where he lived from 2007 until 2014, when the Alaska Raptor Center assumed care of the bird program. Titan now lives in the natural eagle habitat with Sunset and wears a green leg band.

Titan is in love…with Sunset. Each spring they build a nest with sticks they find in their habitat. It might only be ten sticks, but it’s a nest! Sunset will lay eggs and incubate them while Titan brings her food. It is quite fun to watch these natural behaviors happen every year!
