Luci was admitted February 26th, 2016 as our sixth eagle of the year. During her initial exam, we found a large scab on her left wing, with her right wing being relatively normal. While we are uncertain of how Luci became injured, electrocution is the most likely culprit. As Luci’s rehabilitation continued, her wingtip deteriorated and due to this and some feather issues, the decision was made to amputate her wingtip. This made her non-releasable and she became part of our educational team.

Bald Eagles are loud, but Luci just might be the loudest! She often screams when other eagles fly by and makes sure that everyone in the vicinity knows about it!
